83 King Lam Street - AIA Hong Kong Honors Award & Sustainable Design Award 2025

83 King Lam Street won the AIA Hong Kong Honors Award 2025 and Sustainable Design Award 2025 in the Open International category.

The AIA Honor recognition is awarded to projects that go beyond the brief to deliver transformative results. This year’s top honors illustrate how thoughtful design can reshape workplaces, revitalize villages, and create new community hubs.”

COLLECTIVE is the Design Architect for the Architecture and Interiors of the podium, including the public steps, landscape design, auditorium design, co-working space design and lobby design; COLLECTIVE is also responsible for the interiors of the twin towers. COLLECTIVE partnered with Rocco Design Architects, who is the Design Architect of the twin towers and the Executive Architect of the project.

In the Open International category, COLLECTIVE studio took top honors for 83 King Lam Street in Cheung Sha Wan. By integrating the ground plane, basement, and podiums of the towers in this industrial redevelopment project, Collective created a shared vertical space that invites the public in and offers a green respite in a dense industrial neighborhood.”

Susannah C. Drake, FAIA FASLA WEDG – Climate adaptation expert and Fellow of both the AIA and ASLA, her Gowanus Canal Sponge Park won the inaugural Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Climate Action

Prof. Mark Lee – Hong Kong native, former Harvard Architecture Department Chair and co-founder of internationally acclaimed firm Johnston Marklee which has been recognized with over 50 major design awards

J Lee Rofkind, FAIA, LEED AP – An AIA Hong Kong founding member and hospitality design pioneer, J Lee was recently elevated to the AIA College of Fellows

Shirley Surya – M+ curator who shaped Asia's first major institutional architecture collection and co-curated the landmark I.M. Pei retrospective
