CHI YAN CHAN

Director

Chi Yan is a Director at COLLECTIVE.

She holds an M. Arch. from Harvard University and a B.A. of Architecture from Princeton University. Chi Yan is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), co-teaching Master Architecture Design Studio with COLLECTIVE Directors Betty Ng and Juan Minguez. She was previously an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture at CUHK teaching Bachelor Degree Design Studio.

Prior joining COLLECTIVE in 2019, Chi Yan was at Herzog & de Meuron, serving on the team as designer and eventually leading as Project Manager on site for the design and construction of Tai Kwun Center for Heritage and Arts in Hong Kong from 2009 to 2018. Between 2017 and 2018, she was a Resident Site Architect for the construction of the M+ Museum in Hong Kong.

Chi Yan has over 12 years of professional experiences working at various award-winning architecture firms in the United States and China with Neri & Hu in Shanghai, Zephyr Architects in Beijing, Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, BRB and Agrest & Gandelsonas Architects in New York City.
