Gabriel Lee


Architectural Designer

A native of Hong Kong, Gabriel holds an M. Arch from Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London; a B.A. (Hons) of Architecture from London Metropolitan University and a Professional Diploma in Architectural Studies from HKU SPACE in Hong Kong.

Prior joining COLLECTIVE, Gabriel was Design Associate at Eureka Design in Hong Kong from 2012 - 2018, working on projects with a focus on education, including Yew Chung International School’s Global Learning Centre, New Library and Yew Chung Community College’s New Extension Block etc.

Gabriel has also worked with LOT Architects, FAK3 and Studio Off in Hong Kong. While Gabriel has strong project implementation experiences in Hong Kong, he is also active in research and collaborations: Gabriel participated in the 1st and 2nd Social Innovation Festival organised by Hong Kong Polytechnic University designing the installation I-decode and Green Deck in collaboration with Annette Chu and Brussels office MDMA; he is also on the 5th Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture Shenzhen as Architects in Residence, collaborating with office MDMA under Creative Director Ole Boumen’s invitation, to guide the Value Factory Academy workshop, steering a research process of 50 Value Factory Academy members; and in 2018, Gabriel collaborated with Designer Niko Leung to lead a design workshop in Hong Kong for a group of students from the master design programme at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdk), while Gabriel is currently conducting research on Yim Tin Tsai Island, a depopulated part of rural area near Sai Kung that was laid empty after the last of the villagers left by the 1990s.
